Yesterday we headed over to the San Mateo County Fair and as always we had some compilation of classic rock playing in the car. We were quietly singing along as the intro of Black Sabbath's Iron Man started playing.

Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?

Eve asked Anupam, "Baba, is this Ozzy?"

Anupam is convinced that his job here is done.

Anupam's dad flew up to visit us from Bombay for his 34th birthday. It was a mostly uneventful week. We did the usual things one does when family visits the SF bay area.

We drove down to Monterey to check out the aquarium and the city in general. Then we headed up to Napa for some serious wine tasting and spent time at Grandma's who as always did her traditional beef roast and lemon mirangue. Now that part was just special.

On our way to Grandma's we stopped in Napa for some wine tasting. Anupam was the designated driver so he hung out with the kids and generally stayed sober.

This was also Anupam's first time heading to Taylor's refresher. The burgers there are just ridiculously good. But the line on a sunny northern Californian Saturday, also pretty ridiculous.

The next day we just hung out with grandma and decided to not do another round of wine tasting in the Sonoma area. What we did do is head off to Parducci. They are a smallish carbon neutral winery in the Mendocino area. In fact just 15 minutes from grandma's place in Ukiah. We tasted a bunch of wine there and decided to join the wine club there. We will probably buy wine from here for Pia and Vicky. I think Anupam's dad bought some wine from here too.

We headed home around 2pm, the kids slept in the car most of the way. About 3 hours or so.

A nice little weekend away.
