| Why did we choose Joomla? |

It has a small footprint and has over 5000 plugins available. The problem we had was latency. We've had a website for over 14 years, initially on geocities.com and then on tripod.com and for the last 10 years we've bought space and a domain name. Living away from family made posting pictures a necessity, so we've had pictures and a blog for that time. I wrote up a simple Java program that would take a folder name, resize pictures within, create thumbnails and wrap them in HTML. I would then post these on our site, linked off off the gallery. Very very painful. I am always 2-8 months behind. Video has been rather hard too. So about 4 months back I started looking into available open source CMS and what would work for us. Joomla was this obvious choice after some tinkering. If you're what all the reason, let me know and I'll expand on them. Â Â |
