Jon Foreman, Dolores Park Cafe & Buy Rite Creamery

I really wanted to take Tricia out before turd #2 made his entry into the world. He is due pretty much any minute now. Also, I don't do Valentine's day and I somehow had a feeling that Tricia's birthday on the 1st of March may be too late.

I got back from work a little early and this is huge for me. I have been pulling 12-14 hour days to make sure my team was prepared for the update in a couple of weeks. So I got home and Zuzanna was already there. Tricia had no idea what was up for today and she loves surprises.

I drove to the city, well, to the Mission. We parked off of Guererro and walked over to Dolores Park which is just a nice place to walk around on a nice day like this. Plus living in San Mateo, we like to walk in the city any chance we get.

As we turned the corner on 18th she saw Dolores Park Cafe. It's a pretty little building in the area. Interestingly this place is listed on most gay and lesbian, (especially the latter) tours of San Francisco. And, it's been around for a while. It's a traditionally American cafe with breakfast served all day with really good coffee choices. We got a a couple of hummus type appetizers and coffee and soaked in the atmosphere.

Another thing I didn't tell her is that Jon Foreman was going to make a guest appearance there. The Cafe has musical guests each week and quite often they have someone quite popular. Now, Jon isn't my typical singer, but he has great vocal range.

At about 6pm, Jon walked in with his posse. Well, posse of two. He did his thing as you can see from the videos below.

He's setting up here:

Your love is strong:

We had a really good time with good music, great sandwiches and great coffee. Tricia was really enjoying herself. After the music ended she thought we were ready to head home. Heh... yeah right...

I took her across the street to Buy Rite. Yup the awesome ice cream place. So happy. She got the salted caramel and I got the... you guessed it, espresso flavors. She loved the ice cream and the evening. It had been a long time since we had done anything special.

My next post will probably be about Arjun Flynn, turd #2.

Comments:
Anupam - I am disappointed that you just called bi-rite - Ritual Coffee Toffee - expresso flavor... you do not deserve ice cream of this quality!

Hope all is well in your world - we miss you guys!

Hey Don, I really don't know what I was thinking. A thousand apologies!
